LK SOLUTIONS C/W IPK

Process

From your first enquiry to the final report.

How It Works

From preparation to findings, in four clear steps.

We align the plan and deliverables after confirming vessel location, schedule and document readiness.

01

Inquiry & scope

We review vessel type, tonnage, location and preferred timing to confirm scope and availability.

02

Pre-inspection review

We review vessel particulars, certificates and relevant records, then confirm preparation needs.

03

Onboard inspection

With the Master or representative, we arrange safe access and review the agreed items onboard.

04

Findings & report

We document observations and follow-up points, then share results in the agreed format and timeframe.

PreparationElectronic copies of the eCMID history, vessel particulars, certificates and operating records help with preparation. The detailed list depends on the vessel and its operations.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered.

Useful information before planning an inspection.

How do eCMID and small vessel inspections differ?

The current IMCA formats distinguish Vessel Inspection (M149) for vessels of 500 GT and above and Small Vessel Inspection (M189) for vessels under 500 GT. The latter was previously known as eMISW. Applicability is discussed against vessel particulars and operations.

Does eCMID replace class or statutory inspections?

eCMID is a tool for reviewing a vessel’s safety management system. It does not replace class or statutory inspections and is not a guarantee of safety or suitability for a specific project.

What information should I provide when enquiring?

Please provide vessel name, IMO number where applicable, vessel type and tonnage, main operations, preferred location and dates. Existing reports and client requirements also help the scope discussion.

How are the time and cost determined?

Timing and pricing depend on vessel size and type, documentation readiness, location, travel and requested scope. A schedule and quotation are discussed after reviewing vessel information.
